Korea Yakult Launches 'V Food 6 Types'... Baek Jong-won Selected as Model
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Seon-ae] Korea Yakult announced on the 9th that it is launching six new products under the ‘Vfood’ line and expanding its lineup of health functional foods.
The newly introduced products include four types of vitamins (‘Multivitamin Mineral’, ‘Vitamin B Complex’, ‘Vitamin C’, ‘Vitamin D’) as well as ‘Calcium’ and ‘Magnesium’, totaling six items.
Marking the 10th anniversary of the launch of ‘Vfood’, Korea Yakult has redesigned the formulations and product lineup while maintaining the core concept of using naturally derived ingredients. In particular, they emphasized that recommended intake amounts are important for vitamins just like food. The products are designed according to the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety’s regulation of ‘100% daily recommended intake’, allowing consumption without excess or deficiency.
Convenience of intake has also been improved. All six products are made into smaller tablets compared to the company’s existing products, making them easier to swallow. Especially, three products?‘Vitamin B Complex’, ‘Vitamin C’, and ‘Vitamin D’?are of the ‘sublingual’ type, which can be dissolved under the tongue without water.
The new product ‘Multivitamin Mineral’ provides a balanced supply of 20 essential nutrients, including vitamins and minerals that modern people often lack. ‘Vitamin B Complex’ contains six types of vitamin B essential for energy metabolism. ‘Vitamin C’ helps suppress reactive oxygen species and supports antioxidant activity upon intake, while ‘Vitamin D’ is suitable for those with insufficient outdoor activity leading to reduced calcium absorption.
‘Calcium’ and ‘Magnesium’, which help bone and muscle health, are made from raw materials sourced from the clean region of Ireland, ensuring safe consumption.
Korea Yakult has appointed CEO Baek Jong-won as the new CF model along with the product launch.
CEO Baek is widely loved by the public for his candid talk and unique friendly charm. The new CF concept features CEO Baek, who has been dedicated to improving the nation’s food culture, promoting proper vitamin intake through the broadcast.
Byun Gyeong-gu, Marketing Director at Korea Yakult, said, “‘Vfood 6 types’ are designed to create a habit of appropriate vitamin intake by meeting 100% of the daily recommended intake. We plan to continue related research and quality enhancement to increase consumer satisfaction in the future.”
