Professor Jeong Ji-tae, Emeritus Professor at Korea University, Appointed as the 24th President of the Korean Medical Association
[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Dae-yeol] Professor Jeong Ji-tae, Emeritus Professor at Korea University College of Medicine, has been elected as the 24th president of the Korean Medical Association.
Professor Jeong was elected as the new president at the election held on the 7th at the Sheraton Palace Hotel in Seoul, serving a three-year term until the end of March 2021. According to the university, Professor Jeong is the first from Korea University College of Medicine and the Korean Society of Pediatrics to become president. The Korean Medical Association is regarded as the most prestigious medical academic organization in the country.
Professor Jeong was appointed to Korea University College of Medicine in 1988 and retired last August. He stated, "In the future, I will establish a standing committee to proactively set the direction of medical care in our country, address pressing issues, and support the academic activities of domestic medical organizations."
