Gyeonggi Province Files Complaint Against Lee Man-hee, Shincheonji Chairman... Unauthorized Entry into Gapyeong Church Facility
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi Province has reported six individuals, including Lee Man-hee, the General Pastor of Shincheonji Church of Jesus, to Gapyeong Police Station on charges of violating the 'Infectious Disease Prevention and Control Act.'
Earlier, it was confirmed that on the 5th, Lee Man-hee and five others unlawfully entered the Shincheonji Church of Jesus facility located on Jamgok-ro, Cheongpyeong-myeon, Gapyeong-gun, where Gyeonggi Province had imposed measures such as 'facility closure and prohibition of gatherings' to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
This site is known as the land where Shincheonji is constructing the Peace Museum.
The province confirmed that Lee and his group unlawfully entered the closed facility around 10:30 a.m. that day for purposes such as internal facility management and tree planting, and stayed for several tens of minutes. Photos and videos from the scene were submitted to the police station.
According to the Infectious Disease Prevention Act, closed facilities cannot be accessed by anyone other than designated managers, and violations are punishable by a fine of up to 3 million won.
Previously, on February 24, the province issued administrative orders for 'facility closure and prohibition of gatherings' until the 5th of this month for facilities owned or managed by Shincheonji Church of Jesus.
Subsequently, on the 2nd, the province announced that since Shincheonji still does not sincerely comply with quarantine measures, it will continue to enforce facility closure and prohibition of gatherings orders on 427 Shincheonji facilities within the province.
