Mapo-gu, Recruiting Applicants for Disabled Sports Class Vouchers
Recruitment until the 12th, 80,000 KRW monthly tuition support for 8 months from May courses... Efforts to bridge the gap between disabled and non-disabled by providing vouchers to low-income disabled individuals
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Mapo-gu (Mayor Yudonggyun) is recruiting applicants for the 2020 Disabled Sports Voucher program until the 12th.
The Disabled Sports Voucher program aims to guarantee opportunities for people with disabilities to enjoy sports by providing the existing sports voucher to low-income individuals with disabilities, thereby bridging the gap between disabled and non-disabled people and promoting the health of people with disabilities.
The support targets low-income individuals with disabilities aged 12 to 49 (birth years 1971?2008), including basic livelihood security recipients and near-poverty groups. Each person can receive support for tuition fees of up to 80,000 KRW per month for one sports course over eight months. However, while overlapping support with the Integrated Cultural Voucher program is allowed, overlapping support with the general sports voucher is not permitted.
Applications for the voucher can be made on the Disabled Sports Voucher website (http://dvoucher.kspo.or.kr). For residents who have difficulty using the internet, applications can also be submitted in person at the local community service centers under the resident registration jurisdiction and the Mapo-gu Office's Sports for All Division.
Additionally, to promote physical fitness and healthy leisure activities among residents, the district will hold park golf lessons starting May 12, which can be easily enjoyed by walking on green grass in urban green spaces.
Park golf, held at Noeul Park Golf Course, is a compound word of park and golf, and is a sport similar in gameplay to golf that anyone regardless of age or gender can easily enjoy.
Anyone interested in park golf can participate in this lesson by applying through the Mapo-gu Office website or visiting the Sports for All Division at Mapo-gu Office by April 10.
