Seoul COVID-19 Total Confirmed Cases Reach 581, Including First Death
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] As of 6 p.m. on the 7th, the Seoul Metropolitan Government announced that the total number of confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) is 581. This includes a 44-year-old man from Mapo-gu, the first COVID-19 death in Seoul.
The total confirmed cases increased by 10 from 571 as of 10 a.m. that day.
Confirmed cases related to overseas contact increased by 7 from 209 to 216. A 21-year-old female international student residing in Seongdong-gu returned from Canada on the 5th and was confirmed positive on the same day.
Seongbuk-gu announced that a 31-year-old female resident of Seongbuk-dong was classified as the 19th confirmed case in the district. This patient, who returned from the United Kingdom on the 28th of last month, initially tested negative but tested positive upon retesting on the 6th.
In Yeongdeungpo-gu, a woman in her 30s who returned from the United States on the 30th of last month underwent self-quarantine and was tested on the 6th, receiving confirmation of infection on the same day.
In Gangseo-gu, a man in his 40s who returned from the Philippines was tested on the 6th and confirmed positive.
