Park Baek-beom, Vice Minister of Education, said, "If a student infringes on a teacher's educational activities, measures will be taken against the offending student and protective measures for the affected teacher will be implemented according to the law," adding, "For offending students, actions such as community service and suspension of attendance are possible."
The Ministry of Education also plans to cooperate with metropolitan and provincial offices of education to provide advance guidance in the form of card news to schools, students, and parents to prevent infringement on educational activities before remote classes.
Ahead of the online school opening for 9th and 12th graders starting on the 9th, seven education offices including Daegu, Busan, Incheon, Sejong, Gwangju, Gyeonggi, and Chungnam have completed lending smart devices to 12th and 9th-grade students. By the 8th, the day before school starts, smart device lending will be completed for all 12th and 9th-grade students nationwide.
Vice Minister Park explained, "Gyeonggi, Seoul, and others can also deliver smart devices to all students before school starts without difficulty, including the supply from the Ministry of Education," and added, "An additional 20,000 devices held by the Ministry of Education can be supported."
After the elementary school online opening on the 16th, teachers will focus on students' remote classes, and after-school instructors are also considering ways to support this through emergency care. Regarding kindergarten tuition provided by the government, the existing closure period will be extended from 5 weeks to 8 weeks for support. To facilitate smooth remote classes for special education teachers, a 'Disability Learning Online Classroom' will be established and operated at the National Institute of Special Education.
