Moorim Eco-Friendly Coating Products Obtain Biodegradability Certification in Europe
[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Hyewon] Murim recently announced on the 7th that it has developed a water-based eco-friendly coating product and obtained biodegradable certification.
Last month, Murim finally acquired the 'OK compost (biodegradable certification)' officially issued by 'TUV AUSTRIA,' the top testing and certification body in Europe. This certification is an international environmental certification that tests and verifies whether household and industrial waste biodegrades within a certain period without environmental toxicity.
Murim's eco-friendly paper cup base paper product 'Neofore CUP,' which obtained biodegradable certification, is made with a water-based coating solution.
Typically, paper cups are coated with polyethylene (PE) for water resistance, but this significantly lowers the recycling rate and has been pointed out as an environmental issue.
Murim's Neofore CUP has officially proven to biodegrade within 45 days after use.
Murim is currently reviewing supply contracts with convenience stores and large supermarkets. Along with obtaining this biodegradable certification, the company plans to launch a separate eco-friendly exclusive brand 'Neofore' to lead market activation for eco-friendly and safe products.
