Gochang-gun, 65% Reduction in Agricultural Machinery Rental Fees Until July
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jaegil] Gochang-gun, Jeonbuk announced on the 6th that it will reduce the rental fees for agricultural machinery during the farming season to alleviate the farming burden on farmers caused by COVID-19.
The Gochang-gun Agricultural Technology Center is the only one in Jeonbuk Province to have revised the ordinance on agricultural machinery rental fees (effective January 1, 2020), renting out agricultural machinery at a cost 15% cheaper than the statutory rental fees.
Due to concerns about labor shortages during the farming season caused by the spread of COVID-19, an additional 50% discount will be applied to all types of agricultural machinery at the rental business sites, and this will be fully expanded until July 31.
Currently, Gochang-gun has 570 units of 65 types of agricultural machinery at two agricultural machinery rental business sites. Construction is also underway for the southern region (Seongsong, Daesan, Mujang, Gong-eum) agricultural machinery rental business site, with completion targeted for September.
