Air Seoul to Increase Flights on Gimpo-Jeju Route in April-May... 32 Weekly Flights
Weekend Jeju Route Boarding Rate Exceeds 90%... April Expected to Maintain Around 85% Level
[Asia Economy Reporter Yu Je-hoon] Air Seoul announced on the 6th that it will increase flights on the Gimpo-Jeju route in April and May.
According to Air Seoul, from this day forward, its Gimpo-Jeju route will be expanded to 32 flights per week. Previously, due to the sharp decline in travel demand caused by the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19), Air Seoul had drastically reduced the Gimpo-Jeju route from 25 flights per week to 2-3 flights per week in March.
However, since March, weekend load factors have exceeded 91%, showing signs of recovery, leading to the decision to expand back to 32 flights per week.
An Air Seoul official explained, "As overseas travel has become difficult, recovery is appearing in domestic routes such as Jeju," adding, "With an expected average load factor of over 85% in April, we have increased weekend flights to 5-6 per day to enhance schedule convenience."
