Two People in Their 80s Die in Cluster Outbreak at Daesil and Hansarang Nursing Hospitals
[Asia Economy Reporter Cho Hyun-ui] Two patients in their 80s died from the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) in Daegu.
According to Daegu city health authorities on the 5th, an 84-year-old man receiving treatment for COVID-19 at Chilgok Kyungpook National University Hospital passed away at 11:06 a.m. the previous day.
Suffering from dementia and depression, he had been hospitalized at Hansarang Nursing Hospital, where a COVID-19 cluster outbreak occurred, since September last year. He was confirmed positive on the 24th of last month and continued treatment at Sangju Red Cross Hospital and Chilgok Kyungpook National University Hospital but ultimately passed away.

Earlier at 9:45 a.m., an 89-year-old woman receiving COVID-19 treatment at Gimcheon Medical Center died. She was a patient at Daesil Nursing Hospital, where a COVID-19 cluster infection occurred. She was confirmed positive on the 20th of last month and transferred to Gimcheon Medical Center the following day. Her underlying conditions were asthma and hypertension.
