7 'Happy Policy Resident Ideas' Selected in Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju
Gold Prize for the 'Our Neighborhood Environmental Guardians' Project
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yoon Jamin] Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (District Mayor Kim Samho) announced on the 3rd that it has completed the evaluation of the ‘1st Gwangsan-gu Happiness Policy Resident Idea Contest’ and finally selected 7 outstanding proposals.
A total of 121 ideas were submitted for this contest held from January 20 to February 14, and Gwangsan-gu decided on 7 excellent proposals through department reviews and an online resident preference survey.
More than 2,800 citizens participated in the online resident preference survey conducted through the Gwangsan-gu website and the mobile platform ‘GwangsanON,’ making it a great success.
The final selected proposals mainly consisted of ideas that presented solutions tailored to citizens’ perspectives regarding inconveniences or needs felt in daily life.
The highest award, the Gold Prize, went to the project ‘Our Neighborhood Environmental Guardians.’ The Silver Prize was awarded to ‘Our Village Community Childcare Sharing Starting with Happy Toys’ and ‘Support Policy for Improving Daily Life Inconveniences of Families with Newborns.’ The Bronze Prize winners were ‘Internet Contest for Dishwashing Methods of Packaging Containers and Sharing Excellent Know-how’ and ‘Gwangsan-gu Building Up Happy Knowledge.’
The Encouragement Prize was given to ‘SNS Marketing Education for Small Business Owners’ and ‘Creating a Public Playground for Companion Dogs.’

Gwangsan-gu plans to promote the selected proposals as district policies, prioritize budget allocation, and manage them continuously. Additionally, a similar idea contest will be held in the second half of the year targeting citizens and public officials.
