Mercury Employees 'Sip-si-il-ban'... Donating Leave to Help Sick Colleagues' Treatment
First Beneficiary Emerges Since Introduction of Mercury Vacation Sharing System... 266 People Donated a Total of 942 Days of Leave
[Asia Economy Reporter Kangwook Cho] The Export-Import Bank of Korea announced on the 3rd that it has seen its first case of vacation sharing for an employee undergoing medical treatment since it introduced the vacation sharing system through labor-management agreement for the first time in the financial sector in May last year.
The vacation sharing system is a program where colleagues voluntarily donate their own vacation days to employees who require long-term hospitalization or recuperation due to injury or illness.
Recently, the Export-Import Bank of Korea's labor and management conducted a survey among all employees to gauge their willingness to donate vacation days for an employee battling a serious illness. As a result, 266 employees pledged a total of 942 vacation days.
