1608 Karaoke Rooms and PC Cafes in Daejeon Voluntarily Close Temporarily
[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] As of the 3rd, Daejeon City announced that 1,608 multi-use facilities, including karaoke rooms and PC rooms within the jurisdiction, are participating in voluntary temporary closures.
The city and autonomous districts continuously recommend business suspension to these facilities, which are at risk of group infections, and provide a support fund of 500,000 KRW to businesses voluntarily closed from the 30th of last month to the 5th of this month.
Separately, since the 17th of last month, the city and autonomous districts have been continuously inspecting local multi-use facilities for the presence of hand sanitizers and disinfectants in business premises, posting of preventive guidelines, mask-wearing by users, and adherence to spaced seating arrangements.

A city official stated, “In cooperation with autonomous districts, we conduct infectious disease prevention activities at 100 to 150 business sites daily,” and added, “We urge local multi-use facility operators to comply with infectious disease prevention guidelines within their establishments and to continue activities to prevent infections.”
