[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yoo Seong-hoon) has intensified disinfection efforts on major walking trails frequently visited by spring outing guests and visitors to promote strict social distancing measures in response to the cherry blossom blooming season.
On the 3rd, the district hung 'Spring Flower Distancing' banners at entrances of Geumcheon-gu Office Station, Doksan Station, and Gasan Digital Complex Station, and installed 105 streetlight banners along major walking trails such as Anyangcheon, Cherry Blossom Road, Geumnarae Central Park, Gamrocheon Ecological Park, and Geumcheon Sports Park to encourage participation in strict social distancing.
Similar to how major domestic and international companies have modified their familiar brand logos to promote social distancing participation, the district strengthened symbolism by visually expressing the Geumcheon-gu emblem mark, shaped like a fully bloomed azalea flower, with a space between the left and right parts for intuitive recognition on promotional materials.
Furthermore, on the 4th and 5th, when the highest number of spring outing guests and visitors are expected, Mayor Yoo Seong-hoon and staff will conduct focused disinfection on major walking trails and promote social distancing to encourage resident participation.
To practice social distancing among employees, the district installed 'paper partitions' in the staff cafeteria and implemented a 'five-shift lunch system' where all employees are divided into five groups to eat lunch in turns. The paper partitions are made of corrugated cardboard, which is excellent for preventing COVID-19 droplet infection according to research by the U.S. National Institutes of Health and is also recyclable.
