Candidate Lee Gang-rae: "Democratic Party Must Win for Regaining Power"
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Lee Gang-rae, the Democratic Party of Korea candidate for Namwon, Imsil, and Sunchang in Jeonbuk, stated on the 2nd, "Regional development depends on who is elected as a member of the National Assembly in this general election, and it can support the stable governance of the Moon Jae-in administration," adding, "The Democratic Party of Korea must win for the next re-election to be possible."
On the first day of the official election campaign for the 21st National Assembly election, Lee Gang-rae made these remarks at the '100-Year Preparation Departure Ceremony' in front of Namwon City Hall, saying, "This election is held at a critical juncture for regional development," and appealed, "Please make a player change to a powerful senior member of the ruling party who has abundant experience and a strong network within the ruling party, including roles such as Blue House chief and government minister."
He also emphasized, "Only if the Democratic Party candidate Lee Gang-rae is elected can he work well with Democratic Party-affiliated local government heads to smoothly resolve many pending issues," and added, "Members of the National Assembly, mayors and county heads, provincial councilors, and city and county councilors will become one team to create the future of the region through smooth communication and role sharing."
In particular, he said, "No independent opportunistic politician who criticized President Moon Jae-in and the Democratic Party of Korea can accomplish anything," and "Only by electing Lee Gang-rae, who has long supported the Democratic Party, can we protect President Moon Jae-in and the Democratic Party of Korea."
He continued, "The election of an independent candidate is equivalent to the election of the opposition party, and if the opposition party wins and takes control of the National Assembly, as they claim, it could lead to the quagmire of impeachment," and requested support, saying, "We must achieve a landslide victory with the win of the Democratic Party candidate, not an independent."
