US CNBC reported on the 1st (Korean time) that "the rematch between the two players is likely to be held in May," adding, "Two NFL stars, Tom Brady and Peyton Manning (both from the US), will join the event." Woods will team up with Manning, while Mickelson will pair with Brady. The event is co-hosted by AT&T's WarnerMedia and the PGA Tour. The match will be broadcast on Turner Sports' TNT channel or one of WarnerMedia's channels via a pay-per-view system.
As with their first match in November 2018, there will be no gallery, and only the minimum essential personnel will be allowed at the venue, ensuring compliance with COVID-19 prevention guidelines. It is reported that all proceeds from the event will be donated to COVID-19 relief funds. Since the PGA Tour will not hold any tournaments in May due to COVID-19, the rematch between Woods and Mickelson is expected to be the only opportunity to quench golf fans' thirst.

Woods and Mickelson played a one-on-one match play titled 'The Match: Tiger vs Phil' in 2018. At that time, Mickelson won the prize money of $9 million (?11 billion) by sinking a 1.2-meter birdie on the fourth hole of overtime after a fierce battle. It was known that the event would be held annually for three years including last year and this year, but it was canceled last year, and this year's event was also uncertain. Former NFL quarterbacks Brady and Manning are also excellent golfers, which is expected to add more excitement.
