Samsung Electronics Reports COVID-19 Cases at US Semiconductor Factory
[Asia Economy Reporter Changhwan Lee] A confirmed case of COVID-19 has occurred at Samsung Electronics' semiconductor plant in Texas, USA.
According to industry sources on the 1st, a local employee working at the semiconductor plant in Austin, Texas, tested positive for COVID-19 last weekend and is currently receiving treatment.
The employee reportedly showed suspicious symptoms and has not come to work since the 13th of last month.
Since the employee has not been attending the company, it is understood that the production line is operating normally.
A Samsung Electronics official explained, "Following the guidelines of the U.S. health authorities, on-site disinfection and hygiene management have been completed, and we are continuously making every effort to ensure the health and safety of our employees."
