National Police Agency and Korea Precious Metals Sales Association Sign Crime Prevention MOU
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-joo] The National Police Agency and the Korea Precious Metals Sales Association signed a business agreement on the 1st to prevent crimes targeting precious metals stores.
The main content of this agreement is to establish a collaborative system, including a communication network among the National Police Agency, the association, and precious metals store owners, so that store owners can quickly learn about recent crime methods and crime prevention tips.
When a robbery targeting precious metals stores occurs, the police will deploy the Crime Prevention Diagnosis Team (CPO) to analyze and identify the characteristics of the case, crime methods, necessary improvements as judged by the police, and exemplary prevention cases, and notify the association.
The association shares the information received from the police with its approximately 10,000 members nationwide, collects additional requests for the police, and helps member companies improve vulnerabilities based on the police's crime prevention diagnosis results.
Both parties plan to continuously strengthen cooperation by regularly holding meetings to review progress and prepare improvement measures.
Min Gap-ryong, Commissioner of the National Police Agency, said, "I hope this business agreement will raise the level of crime prevention in precious metals stores and serve as a model case of 'community policing,' where local communities take the lead in solving security issues."
