4 New COVID-19 Cases Confirmed in Gwangju Area in One Day...Total 24 Cases
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] In the Gwangju area, 4 additional COVID-19 cases were confirmed on the 31st of last month in just one day. This brings the total cumulative cases in the region to 24.
According to Gwangju Metropolitan City and health authorities on the 1st, at around 4 p.m. the previous day, A (43, female), B (20, female), C (20), and D (30, female), who were quarantined at the Gwangju Fire Academy dormitory, tested positive for COVID-19.
A and B are the wife and daughter of the 10th confirmed case in Jeonnam Province. On the 29th, after completing overseas dispatch work, the entire family returned together from the United Kingdom.
C also arrived from the United Kingdom on the same day.
All of them used the dedicated airport bus for arrivals from Incheon Airport to Gwangmyeong Station according to the guidelines for arrivals from Europe. From Gwangmyeong Station, they boarded the dedicated KTX train car for arrivals and arrived at Gwangju Songjeong Station, then were immediately placed under facility quarantine at the Fire Academy dormitory. Therefore, no contacts have been identified.
D is the daughter of the 17th confirmed case in Gwangju.
The 17th confirmed case had visited Ilsan, Goyang City, Gyeonggi Province, the home of another daughter who had traveled to Spain, and was later diagnosed with COVID-19.
After her mother was confirmed positive, D requested to stay at the Fire Academy dormitory from the 21st of last month, and tested positive in a test conducted one day before the end of her quarantine.
