According to the Democratic Party of Korea Gwangju City Party on the 31st, the Future Honam Region Election Countermeasures Committee held a press conference as a venue for overcoming COVID-19 and winning the general election, pledging to prepare crisis response measures and conduct election campaigns in compliance with preventive guidelines.
The press conference was attended by Lee Gae-ho, Standing Chairman of the Future Honam Region Election Countermeasures Committee, Seo Samsuk and Song Gapseok, Co-Chairmen, as well as Lee Hyung-seok, Co-Chairman of the Central Party's Election Countermeasures Committee. The spokesperson role was carried out by Shin Sujeong, a Gwangju City Council member.
At the event, Lee Hyung-seok, Co-Chairman of the Central Party's Election Countermeasures Committee, and Seo Samsuk and Song Gapseok, Co-Chairmen of the Future Honam Region Election Countermeasures Committee, read the "Democratic Party Candidates' Pledge to Overcome COVID-19 in the 21st General Election" on behalf of the Gwangju and Jeonnam general election candidates, pledging to overcome the COVID-19 crisis and win the general election.
The Future Honam Region Election Countermeasures Committee stated, "Democratic Party candidates will establish a response system for public safety and strive to overcome the economic crisis," adding, "We will support the necessary budget and systems and propose the government to prepare a second supplementary budget to devise measures for economically vulnerable groups."

Additionally, they said, "All Democratic Party candidates in Gwangju and Jeonnam will conduct election campaigns strictly adhering to preventive guidelines," and added, "We ask the citizens of Gwangju and residents of Jeonnam to comply with the voting participation guidelines for the April 15 general election and make sure to participate in voting."
