Doctor at Namyangju National Safe Hospital Confirmed Positive, 142 Contacts Quarantined
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] A doctor working at a public safety hospital in Namyangju, Gyeonggi Province, tested positive for COVID-19, resulting in 142 contacts being quarantined.
According to Namyangju City on the 31st, a doctor working at 'Very Good Hospital,' a spine and joint specialty hospital in Byeollae-dong, tested positive in a COVID-19 diagnostic test conducted the previous day at the Jung-gu Public Health Center screening clinic in Jung-gu, Seoul, where the doctor resides. The doctor was transferred to Boramae Medical Center in Seoul.
The doctor conducted inpatient rounds and outpatient treatment at Very Good Hospital on the 28th, then returned to their home in Jung-gu around 1:30 PM. It was confirmed that the doctor stayed in Seoul all day on the 29th. Namyangju City collected specimens from 142 people identified as contacts of the patient and placed them under self-quarantine.

However, operational issues have been revealed, such as cluster infections occurring at Bundang Jesaeng Hospital in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, which was also designated as a public safety hospital.
