Im Seo-jeong: "Job Stability Fund Must Be Expedited... Prioritized as Top Priority"
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] Im Seo-jeong, Vice Minister of Employment and Labor, emphasized on the 31st, "It is important to provide the Job Stability Fund as quickly as possible to alleviate the labor cost burden on small businesses," and added, "Prompt execution should be pursued as the top priority."
On the same day, Vice Minister Im visited the Seoul Regional Headquarters of the Korea Workers' Compensation and Welfare Service and held an 'On-site Meeting for the Job Stability Fund,' stating, "The difficulties faced by small businesses are increasing day by day due to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19)."
This meeting was organized to check the on-site situation regarding the prompt execution of the Job Stability Fund secured through the supplementary budget. The Ministry of Employment and Labor decided to temporarily increase the support unit price of the Job Stability Fund for four months with a supplementary budget of 496.4 billion KRW.
For business owners whose support was decided through new applications this year, additional support from the Job Stability Fund is available. If they employ workers working 40 hours or more per week, businesses with fewer than 10 employees can receive an additional 70,000 KRW per person, and businesses with 10 or more employees can receive an additional 40,000 KRW per person.
Vice Minister Im urged, "The prompt execution of the Job Stability Fund should be the top priority in carrying out tasks, and the revision of the computer program must be completed."
He continued, "Please ensure that business owners who applied for the Job Stability Fund in April receive the support funds, including the supplementary budget increase, without any issues."
