Gyeongbuk Province Provides Emergency Living Expenses for COVID-19... Up to 800,000 KRW for 335,000 Households
Below 85% of the Median Income... Total Payment Amount 208.9 Billion Won
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Park Dong-wook] Gyeongsangbuk-do announced on the 31st that starting from the 1st of next month, it will provide disaster emergency living expenses of up to 800,000 KRW per household, totaling 208.9 billion KRW, to residents facing difficulties due to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
The recipients are about 335,000 households out of approximately 503,000 households with an income below 85% of the median income. Single-person households will receive 500,000 KRW, two-person households 600,000 KRW, three-person households 700,000 KRW, and households with four or more members 800,000 KRW.
About 167,500 households already receiving government support, such as basic livelihood security recipients, emergency welfare project beneficiaries, and unemployment benefit recipients, are excluded.
The emergency living expenses will be distributed in the form of local love gift certificates, Onnuri gift certificates, or prepaid cards according to the conditions of the 23 cities and counties.

Lee Cheol-woo, Governor of Gyeongsangbuk-do, stated, "The supplementary budget and the ordinance supporting residents' living funds have been passed by the provincial council, allowing us to accelerate the execution speed," and added, "We will mobilize all administrative power to ensure that the emergency living expenses are fully distributed within April."
