Currently, there are about 320 academies and 320 private institutes registered in Dobong-gu. To prevent community cluster infections of COVID-19, the district formed 40 inspection teams of two people each, consisting of 80 Dobong-gu office employees. From March 31 to April 1, the inspection teams will conduct an on-site full survey of about 600 academies and private institutes in Dobong-gu, excluding the 40 locations already inspected by the city and the education office.
Through this on-site survey, the district aims to encourage voluntary participation in social distancing at academies and, in cases where operation is unavoidable, will guide strict compliance with quarantine guidelines such as △immediate leave for symptomatic workers (temperature and other checks twice daily with records kept) △checking for fever and respiratory symptoms at entrances and prohibiting entry for those with recent overseas travel within two weeks or symptomatic individuals (records kept) △mandatory mask-wearing for all workers and users (no entry without a mask) △provision of hand sanitizers at entrances and throughout the facility △maintaining at least 1 meter distance between users inside the facility △disinfecting and ventilating the facility at least twice daily (with records including time and supervisor confirmation) △appointing a person responsible for infection control and keeping a list of visitors (name and phone number required).
Additionally, about 640 hand sanitizers and 26,500 masks will be specially distributed during the on-site inspections of the target facilities.
Since the 23rd, the Seoul Metropolitan Government and Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education have been jointly inspecting 34 academies and 6 private institutes in Dobong-gu to prevent the spread of COVID-19, recommending a two-week closure to prevent cluster infections.
