Chairman Cho Won-tae's Salary Last Year 1.9 Billion KRW ... Late Chairman Cho Yang-ho's 70.2 Billion KRW
[Asia Economy Reporter Minji Lee] Cho Won-tae, chairman of Hanjin Group, received a salary of 1.9 billion KRW last year.
According to the Financial Supervisory Service's electronic disclosure system on the 30th, Chairman Cho received 1.378 billion KRW from Korean Air and 515 million KRW from Hanjin KAL last year, totaling 1.893 billion KRW in salary alone. This is nearly double the amount from the previous year (1.098 billion KRW).
The late former chairman Cho Yang-ho, who passed away last April, was paid a total of 70.2 billion KRW in severance pay and salary from five affiliates.

Korean Air paid the late Chairman Cho a total of 51.053 billion KRW, including 49.455 billion KRW in severance pay, 1.427 billion KRW in salary, and 172 million KRW in bonuses. Hanjin KAL paid 5.776 billion KRW in severance pay and salary, Hanjin paid 10.28 billion KRW, Jin Air paid 1.955 billion KRW, and Korea Airport Corporation paid 1.135 billion KRW, respectively.
