Seongbuk-gu, Sewer and Rainwater Inlet Dredging to Prepare for Wind and Flood Damage
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Seongbuk-gu (Mayor Lee Seung-ro) is conducting dredging of sewers and rainwater inlets located in flood-prone areas, around subway stations, along main roads, and on side streets to prevent disasters and reduce odors.
The district plans to complete dredging and cleaning work by the end of May in preparation for the upcoming rainy season, covering 80 km of sewer pipes and 23,000 rainwater inlets within the area.
Furthermore, continuous cyclical inspections will be carried out to enhance disaster prevention. Priority will be given to flood-vulnerable areas and locations around subway stations, along with the designation of responsible managers for rainwater inlets to conduct tasks such as collecting illegal covers that obstruct drainage.
