The Korea Minting and Security Printing Corporation Executives 'Return 30% of Salaries'... Support for Overcoming COVID-19
[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] The management of the Korea Minting and Security Printing Corporation will return 30% of their salaries. A portion of the salary will be used to support social recovery efforts in response to the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
The Mint announced on the 26th that President Jo Yong-man and the management team have agreed to participate in returning part of their salaries for the next four months.
In addition, department and office heads and higher executives at the Mint will voluntarily participate in returning part of their salaries.
Earlier, on the 18th, the Mint formed a special task force to ensure the smooth supply of local love gift certificates and Onnuri gift certificates, enabling the government’s additional COVID-19 supplementary budget to be executed swiftly.
Also, on the 26th of last month, employees and executives collectively raised 50 million won in donations, which were delivered to the Korean Red Cross to be used for overcoming COVID-19 in the Daegu and Gyeongbuk regions.

President Jo Yong-man said, “The Mint has decided to return part of the salaries led by the management to overcome the COVID-19 crisis situation,” adding, “I hope the returned salaries can provide some help to small business owners and vulnerable groups struggling due to COVID-19.”
