On the 26th, he appeared on KBS Radio's 'Kim Kyung-rae's Strongest Current Affairs' and said, "We want to have him with us, but it is still difficult to say whether it will be realized."
Earlier, former emergency committee chairman Kim had stated in a media interview that the possibility of accepting the United Future Party's proposal was 1%. Regarding this, Chairman Park said, "We have hope because he did not deny the 1%."
He said, "As you know, the most important front in this election is the showdown between the pro-Moon Jae-in regime and the pan-centrist conservative united forces," adding, "Although he contributed to the birth of the Moon Jae-in government, if we can have former Chairman Kim, who knows the issue best, with us, it would secure the symbolism of pan-centrist conservative unity at the election level, and the message power would be tremendous."
Regarding the election situation, he diagnosed it as a close contest. Chairman Park said, "The COVID-19 crisis has not helped the election atmosphere, and from the opposition party's standpoint, the election enthusiasm needs to rise, but those aspects are blocked," adding, "There is skepticism about whether we can overcome the upcoming major economic crisis without a policy shift, so if we can gather the rational critical public opinion well, it is worth trying."
He also presented a goal of winning more than 50 seats in the metropolitan area. Chairman Park said, "In the 20th general election, the then Saenuri Party only won about 36 out of 120 seats in the metropolitan area and lost the election," adding, "This time, out of 121 seats, we basically aim to win more than 50 seats, and if we perform better, about 60 seats."
