One Additional COVID-19 Case Confirmed Among Residents of Eunpyeong-gu
Additional Case in Yeokchon-dong Resident (Yeokchon-dong · Female · 20s), Family of Local Confirmed Patient (#8709)
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Eunpyeong-gu (Mayor Kim Mi-kyung) reported one additional confirmed COVID-19 case on the 24th.
The confirmed patient, Ms. ○○○ (resident of Yeokchon-dong, Eunpyeong-gu, female, in her 20s), is a family member of previously confirmed cases (#8709, #8940) within the district. She had been under self-quarantine at home since March 20th and visited the Eunpyeong-gu Public Health Center screening clinic on the 24th for testing. She was finally confirmed positive around 8 PM on the 24th.
The patient has been transferred to Seoul Medical Center, a nationally designated isolation hospital.
Disinfection of the patient’s residence and surrounding areas has been completed. Additional information confirmed through epidemiological investigation will be disclosed on the Eunpyeong-gu Office website.
Mayor Kim Mi-kyung of Eunpyeong-gu stated, “Although the number of COVID-19 cases is decreasing and the situation is calming, it is not yet safe to be complacent. We ask all residents to postpone personal appointments and refrain from company gatherings, actively participating in the ‘social distancing campaign’ to prevent further spread.”

She also urged, “Please avoid overseas travel to high-risk areas. If overseas travel is unavoidable, please refrain from going out for two weeks after returning and minimize contact even with family members.”
