LG Chem to Halt Operations at Michigan Battery Plant for 3 Weeks
[Asia Economy Reporter Park So-yeon] LG Chem's battery plant in the United States has also suspended operations due to the impact of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
According to the industry on the 25th, LG Chem will temporarily halt operations at its electric vehicle battery plant in Holland, Michigan, USA, until April 13, following state government guidelines.
An LG Chem official explained, "Since the administrative order for residents to stay at home was issued from the day before, operations are being restricted, leaving only the essential minimum personnel."
Earlier, the Governor of Michigan issued an administrative order on the 23rd (local time) requiring residents, except for essential workers, to stay home for three weeks.
Meanwhile, SK Innovation is constructing a battery plant in Georgia, USA, but it is reported that there are no disruptions.
