"Corona Far Away, Culture Closer" ... Miryang-si 'Home Art Campaign'
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kang Woo-kwon] Miryang City in Gyeongnam announced on the 25th that it will carry out the 'Mirimidongguk Home Art Cultural Sharing Project' in response to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) targeting children who are spending more time at home due to the delay in school reopening.
The home art cultural experience kits, created through volunteer work by Miryang City Cultural City Center and 'Mirimidongguk' artists, consist of 500 pop art (creative drawing) kits, 300 candle lettering kits, and 200 thread painting (French embroidery) kits. These will be distributed to 1,000 children in the region from the 26th to the 29th over four days at Mirimidongguk, both on-site and via drive-thru. When visiting on-site, it is required that a parent wearing a mask collects the kit.
Completed works can be submitted by participating with SNS hashtags, and 100 participants will be selected by lottery to receive free experience tickets for Mirimidongguk. The submitted works are planned to be exhibited for citizens to view.
Mirimidongguk artists will also produce 500 children's masks themselves and donate them to the city in preparation for school reopening.
