Junggisa Love Sharing Foundation, 'COVID-19 Overcoming Heroes' Contest
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Daeseop] The Small and Medium Business Love Sharing Foundation announced on the 24th that it will hold a contest to discover heroic stories that moved the public during the economic and social downturn caused by the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
This contest is organized by the Korea Federation of SMEs and the Small and Medium Business Love Sharing Foundation with sponsorship from Naver as part of the COVID-19 overcoming project. It was planned to deliver a hopeful message to our society, which has been contracted due to COVID-19.
Anyone who has responded well to prevent the spread of COVID-19 can be eligible. Anyone can apply, including medical staff or public officials leading quarantine and treatment efforts, organizations or individuals who have quietly performed good deeds for marginalized groups or local communities.
The contest accepts submissions in free format, either a 2,000-character essay of a heroic story or a photo directly taken that captures the scene of the heroic act. Applications can be submitted through the contest website from the 25th of this month until the 8th of next month. The total prize money is about 10 million KRW.
The Small and Medium Business Love Sharing Foundation is a public foundation established in 2012 by the Korea Federation of SMEs to expand social contribution in the SME sector.

Kim Youngrae, chairman of the Small and Medium Business Love Sharing Foundation, said, "The heroes discovered through this contest will be invited to foundation events for awards in the future," adding, "Despite the difficult economic situation, we will overcome this phase well because there are companies that do not lose sharing and good deeds and our citizens with high civic awareness."
