[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] One additional COVID-19 case has been confirmed in the Gwangju area. The patient is a man in his 30s who recently traveled to South America, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in Gwangju to 19.
According to Gwangju City on the 21st, A (38), a resident of Buk-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, tested positive for COVID-19 around 6 p.m. the previous day.
After returning from Colombia, A arrived at Incheon Airport around 11 a.m. on the 19th and took an airport limousine bus to return to Gwangju.
Gwangju City and health authorities are focusing on tracing A’s travel route and contacts through an epidemiological investigation.
