Allegations Surrounding Yoon Seok-yeol's Mother-in-Law, Uijeongbu District Prosecutors' Office Conducts Comprehensive Investigation

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Hyewon] The lawsuit fraud case involving Choi, the mother-in-law of Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol, has been transferred from the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office to the Uijeongbu District Prosecutors' Office.
According to the prosecution on the 20th, the Criminal Division 1 of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office (Chief Prosecutor Jeong Jin-ung) transferred the case, in which Mr. Jeong filed a complaint and accusation against Prosecutor General Yoon and others for abuse of authority, to the Uijeongbu District Prosecutors' Office the day before.
This case is a newly filed complaint and accusation last month by businessman Jeong, who has been engaged in legal disputes with Choi over financial transactions related to real estate since 2003.
In 2003, Mr. Jeong conducted financial transactions related to real estate investment with Choi but did not receive the money as agreed in the contract. He engaged in legal disputes with Choi and was sentenced to prison for fraud charges. Since then, Mr. Jeong has claimed that he was wrongfully imprisoned due to Choi's false accusations and that Prosecutor General Yoon was involved in the process.
A prosecution official explained, "Considering that the Uijeongbu District Prosecutors' Office is currently investigating related matters and the jurisdiction of some accused persons' residences."
