[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Young-wook] The international relief and development NGO World Vision Korea is providing 30,000 protective suits to medical staff at COVID-19 base hospitals in the Daegu and Gyeongbuk regions.
On the 20th, World Vision Korea held a protective suit delivery ceremony at the Daegu Medical Association Hall together with the Daegu Medical Association and the Gyeongsangbuk-do Medical Association.
World Vision Korea initially delivered 1,000 protective suits on that day, and plans to deliver the remaining 29,000 suits soon to 10 base hospitals, including Keimyung University Daegu Dongsan Hospital.
The protective suits were provided through donations from supporters including pro gamer 'Ambition' Kang Chan-yong, parenting mentor Kim Sun-mi known as 'Haeun Mom', companies such as Byucksan Engineering Co., Ltd., Levi's Global, Daesung Engineering, BIJ Co., Ltd., and individuals and organizations including Gunpo Serin Church, Gyesan Jeil Church, Pangyo Sarang Church, Yeomsan Church, and Sungin Church.
Kim Sung-woo, Secretary General of the Daegu Medical Association, and Kwon Soon-gil, Secretary General of the Gyeongsangbuk-do Medical Association, expressed their gratitude, saying, "Although the number of confirmed cases is decreasing, there is still a shortage of personnel and supplies to care for the increasing number of severe patients, so the situation remains difficult. This will be a great help to the medical staff who are still fighting on the front lines."
