Preparing to Overcome the Prolonged COVID-19 Crisis Together: Bomun-dong Residents' Autonomy Committee Produces Hand Sanitizers and Distributes Masks to Vulnerable Groups
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Seongbuk-gu (Mayor Lee Seung-ro) Bomun-dong announced on the 17th that, in order to overcome the prolonged COVID-19 crisis together with the local community, it directly produced 100 hand sanitizers and purchased 1,000 masks to deliver to vulnerable groups.
This was the result of the combined efforts of Samseon Saemaeul Geumgo (Chairperson Lee Sook-hee), Bomun-dong Residents' Autonomy Committee Chairperson Cheon Jong-su, and other committee members.
Cheon Jong-su, Chairperson of the Bomun-dong Residents' Autonomy Committee, said, “Although we are experiencing an unprecedented crisis due to COVID-19, there have been many heartwarming stories such as donations through the local community and the production of pure cotton masks. After discussing what could help local residents facing difficulties, the Bomun-dong Residents' Autonomy Committee decided to proceed with delivering masks and producing hand sanitizers. We ask for the participation and opinions of many residents so that residents can engage in various matters beyond COVID-19 and bring meaning to residents' autonomy.”
