Halla "Won 148.7 billion government Sejong new office building construction contract... Achieved 600 billion won contract in Q1 alone"
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Yuri] Hanla announced on the 19th that it has won a contract worth 148.7 billion KRW for the 'Government Sejong New Office Building Construction Project.'
Hanla disclosed on the same day that it signed a contract for the Government Sejong New Office Building construction project, commissioned by the Government Buildings Management Headquarters of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety. The Government Sejong New Office Building will be constructed in Eojin-dong, Sejong City, within the Central Administrative Town, with a total floor area of 134,489㎡ (46,830 pyeong), spanning from three basement levels to 15 floors above ground. The total construction cost is 148.7 billion KRW, of which Hanla holds an 85% stake. The construction period is 30 months from the start date.
This project is the second largest among all comprehensive evaluation bidding system (Jongsimje) projects tendered in the past two years. A Hanla official stated, "Not only is the project cost significant, but it also holds symbolic importance as it will represent domestic public architecture after completion." He added, "After completion, the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, which relocated to Sejong City last year and is currently using temporary offices, will move in and use the building."
Meanwhile, Hanla announced that it achieved approximately 600 billion KRW in new orders in the first quarter of this year, including the Government Sejong New Office Building contract. These include the Gimpo Hangang New Town Knowledge Industry Center (81.8 billion KRW), Mando 'NEXT M' (85.9 billion KRW), Gwangju Ssangdong Apartment Construction (197.5 billion KRW), Seoul National University Siheung Campus Integrated Parking Lot Construction (66 billion KRW), and Dongtan Logistics Complex D1 Block Earthwork (17.5 billion KRW). This amount corresponds to 40% of last year's order volume (1.5 trillion KRW).

A Hanla official said, "The order backlog recorded 2.4 trillion KRW in 2017, 2.5 trillion KRW in 2018, and 2.9 trillion KRW last year, and it is expected to continue increasing this year." He added, "We will intensify our sales activities to achieve this year's new order target of 1.9 trillion KRW."
