[Asia Economy Reporter Cha Min-young] Amid the increased demand for untact (contactless) services due to the impact of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), Lotte Hotel Seoul has launched the industry's first 'drive-thru' product that allows customers to enjoy hotel chef dishes without leaving their cars.
On the 19th, Lotte Hotel Seoul announced that its Japanese restaurant Momoyama and bakery Delica Hans will sell the 'Signature Box,' which can be pre-ordered and paid for in advance and picked up via drive-thru, until the 30th of next month.
Momoyama has introduced the 'Drive-Thru Dining Box,' composed of popular menu items. These include 'Hotseung,' prepared with various ingredients cooked in different ways, grilled fish, sukiyaki, tempura, fruits, and the 'Bento Box A,' as well as the 'Bento Box' which adds lobster chili sauce, eel, and sesame tofu to Bento Box A.
Delica Hans offers the 'Signature Select,' featuring lamb chops and lobster, the signature dishes of the buffet restaurant La Seine, along with bread and beverage set products. The Signature Select is a 'single-person lunchbox' consisting of two lamb chops, two lobster pieces, soup, salad, bread, and rice. There is also a 'Family for Two' menu that includes six lamb chops and assorted grilled vegetables. Customers can also purchase set products including Delica Hans' steady-seller red bean bread, scones, croissants, sandwiches, and beverages.
Reservations and purchases can be made by phone or through the official Lotte Hotel website and Naver reservation page according to the pickup time and advance reservation time. The Momoyama Drive-Thru Dining Box must be reserved at least 2 hours before pickup, and the Delica Hans Signature Select must be reserved at least 4 hours before pickup. Pickup times can be set between 11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. or between 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. Bread and beverage sets can be reserved up to 5 hours before pickup and picked up between 7 a.m. and 9 p.m. Afterwards, customers can briefly stop at the first-floor drive-thru pickup zone and receive their reserved products immediately after confirming the order number and menu.
A Lotte Hotel official stated, “Reflecting the gradually spreading untact service trend, we have introduced special products and services that allow customers to pick up orders without visiting the store directly. We hope customers can comfortably enjoy the hotel’s signature menus, carefully prepared by our top hotel chefs, at home.”
