Walking Together with Small Business through Kind Payment... Yangcheon-gu Conducts 'Gachihae Valuable Consumption' Campaign
From the 23rd, ‘Value-Added Consumption Together’ Challenge Begins... A Warm Journey with Small Business Owners Through Kind Payments Turning Crisis into Hope
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Yangcheon-gu (Mayor Kim Soo-young) will conduct the "Valuable Consumption Challenge by Doing Together" starting from the 23rd.
"Valuable Consumption by Doing Together" is a consumption promotion campaign aimed at helping small business owners working in traditional markets and the food service industry who are facing financial difficulties due to reduced consumption caused by the spread of COVID-19.
The Valuable Consumption Challenge involves visiting a favorite local store, making a kind (善) payment, then uploading a photo of the receipt on one's SNS, and nominating two next participants to continue the challenge. The nominated next participants must join in the same way within 48 hours.
A kind payment means visiting a favorite local store and prepaying with a promise to visit again later, with a recommended minimum payment amount of 30,000 KRW. For example, after dining at ○○ Restaurant, one makes an additional prepayment of ○ KRW.
The district plans to recruit participating businesses for the Valuable Consumption campaign, starting with signing an MOU on the 18th with the Korean Food Service Association Yangcheon-gu branch, including measures such as "price discounts for takeout purchases at restaurants."
To encourage wide participation, the district will promote the campaign on YouTube and SNS (blogs, Facebook), and continue the challenge in a relay format so that various residents, including the mayor, heads of various professional organizations, volunteer club members, and honorary district chiefs, can participate.
Additionally, Valuable Consumption includes ▲ checking participating businesses on the Yangcheon-gu blog and visiting them to "purchase takeout and receive price discounts" ▲ buying one more product than usual and sharing it with people around you as a way to "relieve COVID stress through kind shopping."
A district official said, "We will also hold events through SNS, and among the participants, mobile coupons worth about 10,000 KRW will be provided by lottery, so we ask for your interest and participation."
