KT Powertel Prevents Gas Leaks with 'Industrial Safety IoT'
[Asia Economy Reporter Koo Chae-eun] KT Powertel has expanded its 'Industrial Safety IoT' solution, which detects hazardous chemical leaks using information and communication technology (ICT), to enable real-time monitoring of gas leaks.
According to KT Powertel on the 18th, after launching the 'Industrial Safety IoT' solution in February last year, the company has newly added the 'Hazardous Gas Leak Detection System.' The 'Hazardous Gas Leak Detection System' quickly detects leaks of harmful and explosive gases such as hydrogen sulfide and carbon monoxide, helping to prevent industrial accidents in advance.
It can be used not only to detect leaks of special gases like hydrofluoric acid in raw material storage tanks, warehouses, and production lines of manufacturing plants such as semiconductor factories, but also to detect toxic gases generated during operations at steel mills and shipyards, as well as flammable gas leaks from storage tanks or production facilities in petrochemical plants.
The 'Industrial Safety IoT' hazardous gas leak detection system measures harmful gases, which are major causes of industrial accidents, through detection sensors, and monitors concentration and diagnostic results in real time. It sends quadruple alerts via the control room PC, LTE walkie-talkie 'Rager,' a dedicated smartphone app, and KakaoTalk.
