On the 17th, SK Wyverns and NC Dinos announced, "Training was suspended after one employee of a partner company tested positive for COVID-19."
According to SK on the 16th, one employee from the partner company responsible for operating the electronic scoreboard underwent a COVID-19 test at a health center in Incheon and was notified of a positive result on the morning of the 17th.
It is known that no one within the SK players' team had direct contact with the confirmed case. However, the representative of the partner company was included as a primary contact.
An SK official explained, "As a preemptive measure, COVID-19 tests are being conducted on the partner company’s representative and contacts, and we are awaiting the results."
On the morning of the 17th, SK disinfected the home stadium, Incheon SK Happy Dream Park, and the office interior. They also decided to suspend player training and close the baseball stadium until the morning of the 18th. The decision on reopening the stadium and resuming training will be made after reviewing the test results.
NC, which also deals with the same partner company as SK, closed the NC Park in Changwon, Gyeongnam, where their players were training on the 17th, and initiated disinfection measures.
An NC official stated, "To prevent secondary infections, employees of the partner company residing at our stadium will also undergo COVID-19 testing. Additionally, our club staff who have frequent contact with the partner company will be tested, and other employees will work from home."
