Orion Launches 'Cheese Sprinkled Chicken Pop' Snack with Chicken Texture
[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Saeng-hye] Orion announced on the 17th that it has launched ‘Cheese-Battered Chicken Pop,’ which preserves the texture of chicken.
Cheese-Battered Chicken Pop was inspired by the ‘cheese-flavored chicken’ favored by the 10-20 age group and reinterpreted with a special cheese powder and vegetable seasoning that complement Chicken Pop, creating a sweet and savory taste. The snack’s surface is coated with breadcrumbs along with cheese-flavored seasoning, allowing for a crispier texture similar to real chicken. The slim and long package, easy to hold and shake out with one hand, and the value-for-money practical snack concept remain unchanged, making it convenient and enjoyable without burden.

Chicken Pop gained tremendous popularity with its spicy-sweet addictive flavor reminiscent of real Dakgangjeong and its bite-sized popcorn-like shape. However, production was inevitably halted four years ago due to a factory fire that destroyed the production line. Thanks to strong consumer demand for its re-release, production resumed in February last year with a 10% increase in quantity and upgraded quality, achieving cumulative sales of 28 million packs over one year and gaining popularity.
