COVID-19 Confirmed at Songpa Garak Market
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyung-su] A case of COVID-19 has been confirmed at the Garak Agricultural and Marine Products Wholesale Market in Songpa-gu, Seoul.
On the 14th, according to the Seoul Agricultural and Marine Products Corporation, an employee at a cabbage store within the market tested positive for COVID-19.
The employee, who lives in Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi Province, is believed to have been infected through family transmission. One of the employee's family members attends a church in Yangji-dong, Sujeong-gu, Seongnam, where multiple COVID-19 cases have been reported, and was confirmed positive.
Immediately after the confirmation, the corporation disinfected the Garak Market area. A corporation official stated, "The store where the confirmed case worked serves as both a parking lot and an auction site," and added, "According to CCTV footage, the employee appeared to be wearing a mask."
