Mokpo Christian Hospital Achieves 'Excellent' Grade in All Categories as the Only One in the Southwestern Region
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Ki-dong] Mokpo Christian Hospital announced on the 13th that it was the only hospital in the southwestern region to receive an "Excellent" rating in all categories in the 3rd cycle hospital-level health screening institution evaluation conducted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare from October 2018 to October 2019 to improve the quality of national health screenings.
This evaluation was conducted on 1,515 hospital-level or higher screening institutions and covered eight types of screenings, including the number of screenings, written surveys and on-site inspections, general screenings, infant and toddler screenings, oral screenings, and screenings for five major cancers: stomach cancer, colorectal cancer, liver cancer, breast cancer, and cervical cancer. The results of this evaluation can be found on the National Health Insurance Service website.
Oh In-gyun, CEO of Mokpo Christian Hospital, said, "The reason we were able to achieve an 'Excellent' rating in this national health screening institution evaluation is due to our systematic medical care system and continuous efforts to upgrade screening equipment, which have improved the quality of medical services at our hospital." He added, "We will continue to do our best while striving for the health of the people and the development of the local medical community."
Recently, Mokpo Christian Hospital was designated as a National Safe Hospital free from COVID-19 by the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Korea Hospital Association, proactively responding to infectious disease prevention.
From January 23, at the early stage of the COVID-19 outbreak, the hospital operated a 24-hour emergency medical system to prevent the spread of community infection and infection prevention. When suspected patients visited the hospital, entry was blocked, and treatment began immediately at the screening clinic.
Since being designated as a National Safe Hospital, Mokpo Christian Hospital has separated respiratory disease patients from other patients throughout the entire treatment process from hospital visit to admission, reducing public anxiety about COVID-19 infection and protecting patients and medical staff from infection threats within the hospital, allowing patients to receive treatment with peace of mind.
