Damyang-gun Launches 'Social Distancing' Campaign to Overcome COVID-19
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Damyang-gun, Jeonnam (Governor Choi Hyung-sik) announced on the 12th that it will carry out a sharing campaign and social distancing campaign to help Daegu and Gyeongbuk, which are struggling due to the spread of COVID-19.
The county will conduct the campaign targeting all residents, public officials, and local organizations in cooperation with the Welfare Foundation until the 31st.
The Welfare Foundation will handle the donations, and the Damyang Resident Happiness Division will receive sponsorship goods. Both donations and goods are eligible for tax deduction benefits.
The collected donations and sponsorship goods will be delivered to Dalseong-gun, Daegu, a sister city, to help overcome COVID-19.
Along with this, the county will also promote the social distancing campaign for COVID-19 prevention called the "One-direction seating in restaurants" movement.
Following the county office cafeteria, 68 restaurants in the area will participate in one-direction seating to prevent the spread within the local community.
A county official said, "Due to the nature of dining spaces where many people gather simultaneously, the risk of transmission is inevitably high," adding, "We will practice social distancing first to block the spread of COVID-19."
