"Only finalists receive 100,000 won appearance fee" Mister Trot power abuse controversy... TV Chosun says "No problem"
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoon Shin-won] Recently, controversy arose over the 'abusive contract' for audition participants on TV Chosun's 'Mr. Trot.' The production team stated that there is no problem with the contract in question.
On the 11th, Sports Kyunghyang revealed the contract signed between a 'Mr. Trot' contestant and TV Chosun. The disclosed contract states that TV Chosun will pay the contestant 100,000 KRW per episode, but only to those who advance to the main round or beyond. It also includes clauses that if a contestant causes social controversy or damages their dignity, TV Chosun may terminate the contract. Furthermore, separate from contract termination, TV Chosun can claim a penalty of 100 million KRW and seek damages for breach of contract. These points raised suspicions that TV Chosun might have been abusing its power over the participants.
