Seoul Jung-gu Residents' Support and Encouragement Are a Valuable Fatigue Recovery Medicine~~~
Goggles, Gimbap, Doenjang Soup, Fruit, Herbal Medicine, Fruit Juice, and More Support Items Sent to Health Centers... Messages and Letters Boost Morale of Overworked Health Center Staff
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] On the 6th, a delivery box filled with 140 goggles arrived in front of the Jung-gu Public Health Center in Seoul. It was a gift prepared by an optical store in Myeongdong for the health center staff struggling with COVID-19.
The day before, the Sisters of Chaltre St. Paul Convent carefully prepared gimbap, soybean paste soup, sandwiches, and fruit, which were delivered in abundance to the health center. The staff said that just seeing the letter that read, "We pray every day for COVID-19 to calm down quickly. Fighting today as well! We support you! Thank you!" made them feel full.
In this way, support for the health center staff and medical personnel working on emergency duty to respond to COVID-19 at Jung-gu Public Health Center continues day after day. Thanks to this, the staff gain the strength to endure their heavy workload.
Not only that, several people also sent balloon flower pear juice and apple juice to help protect the vocal health of staff suffering from the flood of phone calls.
A Jung-gu Public Health Center official revealed text messages and support letters sent by residents.
The text messages contained words of comfort and encouragement, such as, "To all those working hard, we hope everyone gets through this difficult time in good health." The letter attached to the gift box read, "During this national disaster, we send balloon flower pear juice, good for your throat health, to all health center staff working hard for the people. Please be sure to drink it and stay strong. Thank you."
Song Jun-mi, an officer of the Infectious Disease Control Team at the health center, said, "For staff exhausted from heavy workloads, the warm support and encouragement sent by residents like this are a precious fatigue recovery medicine. We thank everyone."
The Seoul Jung-gu Korean Medicine Association, concerned about the health of the health center family responsible for residents' health, also sent 10 boxes of herbal medicine with a note saying, "Thank you for your efforts in quarantine."
The Seoul Nursing Association also supported the staff by sending 10 boxes of tangerines with the phrase, "We support you with one heart."
Seo Yang-ho, Mayor of Jung-gu, said, "I deeply thank those who have sent generous support despite the difficulties. The consideration and cooperation of residents like this become the driving force to overcome this crisis. The district will concentrate all its capabilities and do its best until COVID-19 is eradicated."
