SK Inno to Resume Halted Recruitment with Introduction of Video Interviews and Chatbots
[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] SK Innovation is replacing all ongoing recruitment interviews with video interviews starting from the 11th. This initiative by SK Innovation is expected to contribute to the resumption of corporate recruitment activities, which had been stagnant due to the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
The video interviews introduced by SK Innovation are conducted by applicants easily accessing the video interview program through IT devices such as laptops or desktops from their homes, allowing for Q&A sessions with interviewers.
The reasons SK Innovation adopted video interviews are to ▲participate in the 'social distancing' campaign, ▲use digital technology to normally continue temporarily suspended tasks, and ▲improve work efficiency.
Therefore, this approach minimizes unnecessary contact among interviewees, eliminates the need for interviewers to visit business sites nationwide for interviews, and enhances health and safety for business sites and employees from external visitors. This video interview system was made possible by SK Innovation’s company-wide push for Digital Transformation.
Already, as part of the digital transformation of recruitment operations, SK Innovation introduced a 'Chat Bot' last year during the second half of the new employee open recruitment, which automatically answers various questions from job seekers. With the application of the video interview system, the chatbot service has been further enhanced.
This chatbot understands the context of prior conversations with job seekers to provide answers to subsequent questions. For example, if a job seeker asks, "What career recruitment announcements are currently ongoing?" and then follows up with "How are the interviews conducted?" the chatbot provides information related to that recruitment.
