View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Byung-don] On Wednesday the 11th, a brief cold spell caused by cold air coming from the northwest is expected, with morning temperatures in the central region dropping below freezing.
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration on the 10th, as of 4 p.m., the entire country is cloudy, with rain falling in eastern Gyeonggi, Gangwon, Chungbuk, and Gyeongsang regions.
In some parts of Gangwon, northern Chungbuk, and northern Gyeongbuk, about 5mm of additional rain is expected until night. Snow accumulation of 1 to 5 cm is also expected in the mountainous areas of Gangwon.
On the 11th, under the influence of high pressure near Shanghai, China, the whole country will be clear, but morning temperatures will drop by more than 5 degrees Celsius.
The nationwide morning low temperatures are forecasted to be between -5 and 4 degrees Celsius. Additionally, somewhat strong winds will make the perceived temperature even lower.
In Seoul, the morning low temperature is expected to be -1 degree Celsius, with a wind chill of -6 degrees Celsius.
During the day, temperatures will rise to between 7 and 13 degrees Celsius due to sunlight, easing the cold.
Inland areas may experience a daily temperature range of about 10 degrees Celsius.
In regions experiencing rain or snow, caution is advised for traffic safety and pedestrian safety.
In the offshore areas of the West Sea and Jeju, as well as most of the open sea, very strong winds and high waves are expected, so navigation and fishing vessels should pay close attention to accident prevention.
Along the southern coast, the west coast, and Jeju's coast, the tide is high due to the astronomical phenomenon of the Earth and Moon being close. On the east coast, high waves caused by swells may occur, so special attention should be paid to facility management and coastal safety accidents.
