"Most Embarrassing in Korean Political History"... United Party's Fierce Criticism of 'Proportional Alliance Party'
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] The United Future Party criticized the Democratic Party of Korea's participation in the proportional representation coalition party as "the most embarrassing and shameless act in the history of South Korean politics."
Jeon Hee-kyung, spokesperson for the United Future Party, stated in a commentary on the 10th, "If it only increases the number of seats, it is a declaration to throw away the 1+4 opposition coalition, which they used so well, into the trash," pointing out this issue. She said, "The Democratic Party of Korea is committing the most embarrassing and shameless act in the history of South Korean politics," adding, "There is a limit to absurd sophistry, and even in claims that distort the essence of the situation, there is common sense. They are working hard to create a 'justification' for founding a proportional party," criticizing them.
Spokesperson Jeon also said, "The Democracy Research Institute, led by Yang Jeong-cheol, the president's close aide, added another excuse while simulating the vote count assuming the establishment of a proportional party," and "Although the final decision will be made through a vote by all party members tomorrow, as everyone knows, the answer is already decided, and the tragic finale of South Korean political history is already reserved," sharply criticizing. Regarding Lee Nak-yeon's statement as co-chairman of the joint election committee that 'criticism is temporary, but responsibility lasts for four years,' she said, "It is a declaration that winning is all that matters," and pointed out, "He is a truly frightening person, and this is precisely the spirit of the Democratic Party of Korea, whose sole purpose is power itself."

Shim Jae-chul, floor leader of the United Future Party, also said at the floor strategy meeting that day, "Since the primary goal of passing the Corruption Investigation Office has been achieved, it seems they think it is okay to casually throw secret agreements with the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th factions into the trash," and "Our wise citizens will surely wield a severe whip in the April 15 general election," he pointed out. He criticized, "Democratic Party members insist with absurd sophistry that 'if they create it, it is self-defense,' and they argue nonsensically that what our United Future Party is doing is 'infiltrating neighborhood markets,' but what they are doing is 'solidarity with neighborhood markets.'"
